Project description

The team of honey bee pathogens and parasites innovation (Institute of Apicultural Research, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science) is seeking a scientist to head a research project on infection mechanism of pathogens and immunity reaction in honey bees. The overall project goals are to explore the mechanism of pathogens infection and defense mechanisms of honey bee. We focus on diseases and parasites including Nosema, mite, bacterial, fungi and virus. The first goal of this project is to explore the infection mechanism, get the fast and easy detection method and find the easy controlling ways/medicines. The working place located at Institute of Apicultural Research, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science, Beijing, China.
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D degree in life sciences and molecular biology or related discipline and exhibit outstanding research promise. In addition, demonstration of a high level of scientific productivity, technical skills in apiculture, molecular biology, and/or functional and bioinformatics genomics, and excellent English communication and organizational skills are desired. The successful candidate must be willing to become acquainted with these topics during the project, as well as scientific writing in English.
