2.1.1. Introduction

Laboratory studies with honey bees usually involve a certain amount of handling of the experimental bees and often the termination and subsequent storage of the bee samples. Standardized methods for these experimental steps enable the comparison within the same trial and between different studies. The following section displays available methods, advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches and recommendations in terms of application.
