DESCRIPTION
Dear friends and colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 2024 Spring Workshop of the COLOSS Varroa control Task Force. The workshop will be held on March 12th, 2024 at the University of the Basque Country, Bilbao, Spain. After Varroa control workshop, RNSBB workshop will follow at the same venue (March 13th, 2024) as well as the COLOSS Training school «Methods for resilience breeding and management» (14th March).
The agenda will include updates of common activities, presentations of other group members as well as discussions on initiation of new common activities and collaborative projects. We invite members to propose new common studies as TF platform offers excellent opportunity to make large scale studies.
The workshop is open to all COLOSS members, but preference for presentations will be given to colleagues actively participating in the common activities. Part of the workshop will be held in hybrid form, but not the whole workshop. Detailed agenda will follow.

Bilbao is best reached by plane. Bilbao International Airport is conveniently located 12 km from the city center (https://www.aena.es/en/bilbao.html, www.bilbaoair.info ). There is a direct Busline (A3247, every 15min) to the city center with stops in Gran Vía, Plaza Moyua, Alameda Recalde and Bilbao Intermodal. Taxi from Airport to City Center costs around ~35eur.
The workshop will take place at the University building in the city center: Bizkaia Aretoa, (Avenida Abandoibarra, 3, 48009 Bilbao). Bilbao center is a walker friendly city, and workshop venue and suggested hotels are easily reached by walking along the river Nervión.

Bilbao is home to a range of hotels, apartments and B&Bs, all within walking distance of the venue and the city centre. ABSTRACTS
The submission of an abstract is recommended but not required, unless you wish to have it published in the Workshop Proceedings.
The deadline for abstract submission is 25th of February.
