Awad Hassan is an apiculturist interested in figuring out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for beekeeping. Currently, he is interested in large geographical scales rather than small scales. He believes in working with the literature, data mining, citizen science, information technologies to refine our bee knowledge. He uses GIS tools in his toolbox for research on apiculture and pollination ecology.

Awad has recently joined CARE to use data science in bees and pollination research. Besides his trust in data science for apiculture research, he believes that we need to do Big Science rather than the “tiny research
