Since the earliest days my curiosity on nature drove me to graduate with a bespoke Applied Biology degree, first, and then an international MSc in Environmental studies. Yet, I always had the will to generate ideas for projects and make things happen beyond written paper. I was driven to establish a company - Zee Honey Goods - with headquarters in Northern Portugal, to learn more about bee biological system and to set up a beekeeping operation that relates both of my acquired passions: food production and environment. Between this frantic start-up (2011-2016), my colleagues and I further initiated a local beekeeping association that has currently up to 250 members and a full-time technician. I kept trying through different entrepreneurship programs help my community thrive by merging beekeeping, food production and technology. Alongside with CEO, Leonor Araújo, I was able to help local farmers and new entrepreneurs to get funding for their projects. These recent years I’ve been actively part of an international group team, to help put a new bee food into the market. I worked in three different countries UK, Italy and Israel with the objective to place the spin-off APIX nutrition into commercialization. Born in the USA, but essentially raised under the Portuguese culture where I like to spend my December months in a small old village - Ponte de Lima. I became, a beekeeper without borders and I trust myself a creative mind that is thrilled to work in a multidisciplinary environment and continuously searching to improve my technical skills.
