During my PhD work, my research focused on the area of bee health, specifically on the control of Paenibacillus larvae by means of plant extracts. I studied the action mechanism of the extract on the bacteria and carry out in vitro studies with larvae and honey bees to determine the toxicity and effectiveness of the extract on larvae infected with spores of the microorganism. Currently, I am a postodoctoral researcher at Teagasc Moorepark, Ireland. My project is ProApis: Probiotics to mitigate the effect of pesticides on Apis mellifera bees.
