My research activity has focused on the development and improvement of reproductive biotechnologies such as semen quality assessment, semen conservation and artificial insemination in different animal species. We started the research line in honey bee more than 5 years ago, that is mainly oriented towards the improvement of artificial insemination and semen cryopreservation in this species, linked the genetic improvement and genetic resources preservation. The following are some of the more recent papers published on this topic:

    • Angel-Beamonte et al. 2018. Automatic determination of landmark coordinates for honey bee forewing venation using a new MATLAB-based tool. J Apicult Res 57, 605-610.

    • Yaniz et al., 2019. Effect of chamber characteristics, incubation, and diluent on motility of honey bee (Apis mellifera) drone sperm. Apidologie 50, 472-481.
