I have over 30 years of experience in all aspects of apiculture. For over 20 years I worked within the UK National Bee Unit where I specialised in honey bee management, disease recognition, diagnosis and control, extension to beekeepers, advice to policy and government and honey bee ecotoxicology. I was a member of the COLOSS monitoring WG for a number of years and assisted with the design of the original Coloss questionnaire!
I now focus on bee ecotoxicology and my current role is Senior Bee Ecotoxicologist within the Centre for Chemical Safety and Stewardship (CCSS) here at Fera. I am responsible for the management and delivery of bee-related work and the development and expansion of the team. In addition to honey bees I also work with non-Apis species (Bombus spp. and solitary bees e.g. Osmia bicornis).
I am also an active a member of the ICPPR and am co-chair of the brood working group.
