Dr. Corona is a graduate of the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. He completed his Master's and Ph.D. at the Biotechnology Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He pursued postdoctoral studies at the University of Illinois, United States, and the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Since 2011 he has worked at the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Honey bee Research Laboratory in Beltsville, Maryland. During his career, Dr. Miguel Corona has studied the processes of caste determination, queen longevity, and division of labor in bees and ants. Currently, his main lines of research are related to bee nutrition.
