I am currently at the head of a small Beekeepers Associationation in the city of Enschede, the Netherlands (NBV Enschede). Last September I was invited to give some lessons in Argentina about relevant beekeeping topics like the health of the beekeeper, returning the bees to the woods and the bee as a law subject. Besides this, I am also involved in a project on recovering books and documents about beekeeping in South America. Together with my Argentinian colleague (historian) we are working on this idea idea of a digital project to save these beekeeping books, notes and stories (narrative ) in Spanish, that we are afraid are destined to disappear. We are looking for titles, notes, papers and authors to gather an inventory and the state of these documents. When possible purchase them to start our own collection/ library archive and then proceed to digitalize them. In Europe, my interest goes to keep the tradition of bees in the trees like it was in t he early Middle Ages (Zeidlerei in German) and how this practice contributes to the health and preservation of the bees.
Recently I joined the NCvB ( Nederlandse Commissie van Bijenproducten).Besides beekeeping, I speak four languages fluently, something that has facilitated me being able to read articles, books and also attend conferences and courses in a different language than my own, Spanish. Instant translation from Spanish to English or Dutch is something I am very familiar with.
