Currently working as a Senior Researcher within the field of molecular parasitology specialising in the agricultural field of ticks and tick-borne diseases. The overall research interests include understanding the biology of the host-parasite-vector interface to enable rational selection of targets that can be exploited to control parasites and by extension the devastating diseases that they transmit more effectively. The main aspiration is to produce tools (e.g. vaccines) that can improve the health of livestock. I am also part of the steering committee (Vice Chair) for the Eastern Highveld Beekeepers association located in Gauteng (South Africa), as well as a hobbyist beekeeper.
