73rd Annual Meeting of the Working Group of Institutes for Bee Research (AG Bienen)

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Executive Board of the Working Group of Institutes for Bee Research (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Institute für Bienenforschung e.V.), the Institute for Bee Protection at the Julius Kühn-Institut warmly invites you to the 73rd Annual Meeting in Braunschweig (Germany).

Dates: 24–26 March 2026
Venue: FORUM Medienhaus, Hintern Brüdern 23, 38100 Braunschweig, Germany

Registration

Online registration opens on 12 December 2025 and closes on 28 February 2026. Registration will not be possible after the deadline.

Conference language

The meeting is primarily held in German; however, contributions in English are very welcome.

Scientific contributions (talks & posters)

Oral presentations and poster contributions can be submitted via the conference website using the provided templates. Please indicate student contributions accordingly.

Abstract submission deadline: 31 January 2026.
If you require a short extension, please contact the conference team via the official meeting e-mail address (provided in the dedicated field on the COLOSS website).

Social programme

On the evening of 24 March 2026, we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the JKI Institute for Bee Protection in a festive setting at the Dornse of the Braunschweig Old Town Hall.

As a traditional mid-week programme, guided tours will be offered on Wednesday afternoon (details on the conference website):

  • City tour of Braunschweig
  • Botanical Garden
  • Haus Entenfang
  • Natural History Museum
  • Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum

The conference social dinner will take place on 25 March 2026 at the restaurant “Parlament” in Braunschweig.

Fees & payment

Conference fees cover organisational costs, including coffee, cake, and small snacks during the meeting. Payment details will be provided in the confirmation e-mail sent after registration. Please ensure you use the complete payment reference provided there.

Accommodation & local transport

Information on accommodation options is available on the conference website. A limited room contingent in selected hotels will be offered via a booking link; participants may also book directly with hotels.

All registered participants will receive a local public transport ticket (BSVG), allowing free use of public transport within the city during the entire meeting.
