Description
This is the first announcement of the 2026 Spring Training School for in vitro rearing of Varroa mites, jointly organized by the COLOSS Task Forces Bee Breeding and Varroa Control. The Training School will be held on April 24, 2026 at the Bee Institute Kirchhain, Germany. The days before, the workshops of the COLOSS Taks Forces Bee Breeding (22 April) and Varroa Control (April 23) will be held.
IMPORTANT: For all events above, a separate registration is necessary.
The Training School is open to COLOSS members, but preference will be given to colleagues actively participating in the common activities. A detailed agenda will follow.
Registration
The deadline for registration is 15th of March 2026. Online participation is not possible.
Accommodation

How to reach Kirchhain
From the Frankfurt Airport: Take the “S-Bahn” (= fast metro) to Frankfurt Central Station, it departs from the regional train station in the basement of Terminal 1 (S8 or S9, from platform 1).
The fast metro arrives in the basement of the central station (4 stops from airport). Take the elevator to the first floor and change to the regional train that goes directly to Kirchhain (direction to Kassel or Treysa, usually from platform 14, 15 or 16).
