Publishing in bee science journals is a key step in increasing the impact of research, yet the editorial process can often seem complex and difficult to navigate. This online Editors’ Summit, organised as a BeeScholars Task Force activity under the COLOSS Association, brings together senior journal editors and early-career researchers for an open, practical and interactive discussion on scientific publishing.
The COLOSS network includes a wide range of experienced editors from leading bee science journals. This event builds on that unique strength, creating a rare opportunity to engage directly with editors and benefit from their collective expertise.
Through short expert talks and an interactive panel discussion, participants will gain insights into:
Editorial expectations and decision-making processesCommon mistakes in manuscript preparationKey factors influencing publication successPeer review procedures and best practicesEmerging issues in publishing, including the responsible use of AI and publication ethics
Designed to be engaging, practical, and accessible, the Summit offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from editors, ask questions, and better understand how to successfully publish in bee science journals.
