About | He is a junior faculty in the Department of Veterinary Medicine under College of Agriculture, Environment and Veterinary Medicine at University of Rwanda (UR) where he is engaged in research and teaching undergraduate students. Trained as a vet and a Master degree in Natural Resource Management for Sustainable Agriculture with specialization in Wildlife Management and Conservation from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. And currently pursuing his PhD in Wildlife management from University of Cape Coast, Ghana West Africa. Andrew is an interdisciplinary conservation scientist with a background in both the natural and social sciences. He is broadly interested in understanding interactions between society and natural resources (including wildlife). He has a strong focus on institutional arrangements for natural resource governance and how these influence conservation and social outcomes. His current research focuses on rural livelihoods through understanding impacts of conservation interventions on livelihoods; and understanding the drivers of human wildlife conflict and impacts of such conflict on livelihoods of rural communities. |
