About | My primary research interest is in pollinator conservation and the use of bees in pesticide risk assessment. I am a postdoctoral researcher with over 20 years of experience. Currently, I am working at the Complutense University of Madrid (UNA4CAREER/MSCA Co-funded) and at the Center for Apicultural and Agro-environmental Research Castilla-La Mancha (as researcher and professor). My network includes mostly researchers from Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Romania, and Germany. I work jointly with the International Commission on Relations between Plants and Pollinators (ICPPR). I am an external scientific consultant for the “European Food Safety Authority” on the status of bee health, and a member of the international associations: “International Commission for Plant-Pollinator Relationships” (ICPPR), and “Prevention of Honeybee Colony Losses” (COLOSS). Recently I was approved for a postdoctoral Marie Skłodowska-Curie individual fellowship with a global score of 100%. I apply my abilities and expertise to address the global challenges of pollinator safeguard, guidelines for pesticide risk assessment, and climatic changes. I have extensive relationships with professionals inside and outside of academia, in the areas of industry and government as well. I run my own small business (consulting), and I am a patent owner. My awarded grants are over €700.000,00 (Europe/Brazil). My experience also includes leadership, teaching, student supervision, and the ability to work as part of cross-disciplinary teams and independently. |
