About

Ethel Villalobos is a researcher at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her interests include behavior, ecology, and evolution of Hymenoptera. She leads the team of the UH Honeybee Project, and conducts pure research on bee biology and bee health and responds to the needs of beekeepers and farmers that utilize honey bees for honey production and crop pollination in Hawaii.

Current projects include bee health and DWV in Hawaii, Re-capping studies in Hawaii’s bees (in association with Dr. Martin, UK), bee diet and physiology of AHB in AZ, and Costa Rica, biology and ecology of the Small Hive Beetle in HI, Costa Rica, and Mexico.
