| About | Zheng Hao, PhD, is a professor at the College of Food Science and Nutritional Engineering, China Agricultural University, and the assistant dean (on secondment) of the Institute of Science and Technology Development. National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (2024), National Overseas High-Level Talents Program (2018). He received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Tsinghua University, his master’s degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan, his doctorate in Biology from the Max Planck Institute in Germany, and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Texas in the United States. His research focuses on food nutrition, human microbiome, and synthetic biology. He has published over 60 papers in top academic journals such as *PNAS*, *Nature Communications*, and *Cell Host Microbe*. He has received numerous awards, including the Shennong China Agricultural Science and Technology Award, the National Huang Danian-style Teacher Team Award, the “Golden Bridge Award” for Agricultural Science and Technology Services, and the Youth Science and Technology Awards from the Chinese Society of Agricultural Sciences, the Ecological Society of China, and the Entomological Society of China. He has led projects funded by the National Key Research and Development Program and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Insect Microbiome Committee of the Entomological Society of China, a member of the Youth Committee of the International Zoological Society, the Microbial Ecology Committee of the Ecological Society of China, the Microbiome Committee of the Chinese Society for Microbiology, and the Bee Biology Committee of the Apicultural Society of China. He is also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of *Health Engineering* and an editorial board member of *Microbiome*, *iMeta*, *Food Sci Hum Wellness*, *Acta Entomologica Sinica*, *Apiculture in China*, and *Wuyi Science*. |
