Rodrigo Ortega Polo

Rodrigo is the Biology Study Leader – Bioinformatics at the Lethbridge Research and Development Centre of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. As such, he manages the bioinformatics research support unit. Rodrigo  is also a collaborator of the BeeCSI project in which the main goal is to discover stress-specific biomarkers in honeybees from a multi-omics perspective (proteome, transcriptome, and microbiome). He collaborates with Dr. Marta Guarna on the microbiome component of that project. His research interests include metagenomics, comparative genomics of bacterial pathogens, fungal genomics, and bioinformatic method development and workflow management systems.
