SAFE THE DATE – 6th and 7th September 2026
Dear COLOSS members, collaborators, and the international bee research community,
We are excited to confirm the 22nd COLOSS Conference will take place in Bologna, Italy, on Sunday 6 September (full day) and Monday 7 September (half day) 2026.
Held at the Bologna Congress Center, the conference will conclude in the morning/early afternoon of 7 September, allowing seamless participation in EurBee 11 (11th European Conference of Apidology, 7–10 September 2026) starting that same afternoon – at the same venue.
Program highlights:
- Annual General Assembly – essential for member input and association governance
- Dedicated time for Core Projects, Task Forces, and Working Group meetings to advance ongoing initiatives
- Best Student Poster Prize competition – we strongly encourage student submissions to showcase emerging research
- Scientific exchanges, collaboration opportunities, and informal discussions
- A social event to connect and enjoy Bologna’s culinary culture
Pre-conference possibility: We may organize the annual workshop of the World Honey Bee Health Task Force on Friday, 5 September 2026, also at the Bologna Congress Center. This would provide additional focused time on global monitoring of honey bee pests and pathogens. As soon as we have confirmed details (program, registration, etc.), we will inform all members promptly via email, the website, and our usual channels.
This combined COLOSS + EurBee week offers an unparalleled opportunity to share progress on colony loss prevention, bee health, BEEBOOK tools, and international collaborations in one convenient location.
