DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
BeeLife is looking for a competent communications officer, creative and with initiative, who will be in charge of the public communications of the association. The person hired will be part of a small, but dynamic team of competent professionals distributed across Europe. S/he will mainly liaise with the team members following up policies and research linked to environmental stressors of bees’ health at European level and assist the team in the organisation of internal activities. In this framework, especially technologies like GMOs, pesticides, biocides and veterinary products are targeted, and other policies are followed such as the Common Agricultural Policy, and overarching strategies like the Farm2Fork, Biodiversity and Chemical Strategies. The tasks will include but will not be restricted to:
- Create and execute communication strategies and campaigns
- Write press releases, articles (online and print format) and blog entries
- Create multimedia content
- Manage the social media of the organisation
- Assistance in the drafting of fund-raising and other types of projects
- General administrative support like drafting/revision of documents (including reports), preparing PowerPoint presentations, interventions, and others
- Participate in internal and external activities of the association
- Occasionally representing BeeLife in external activities, including but not limited to meetings and events organised by European institutions
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
High level of English both written and spoken (C1 or above). French and other EU languages are an asset Strong communication skills Strong marketing orientation Good command of computer tools and social media (Necessary: Office pack, photoshop / Are a plus: InDesign, video editing software, digital photography, and filmography) Well-organised, good planner and independent Interest in environment and bee issues
