Are you passionate about data and its role in supporting European pollinator conservation? The EU Pollinator Hub seeks a highly motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our team.

About us

BeeLife European Beekeeping Coordination is an association that protects bees and pollinators at the European level. BeeLife manages the EU Pollinator Hub with ZIP Solutions (Slovenia), an online data platform that fosters collaboration, shares knowledge and advances research on pollinators’ critical role in ecosystem health. Our mission includes promoting high-quality, accessible, and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data for the global scientic community and stakeholders.

Your Role As a Junior Data Scientist, you will:

  • Manage data uploaded to the platform, ensuring its integrity and relevance.
  • Curate datasets to ensure alignment with scientic and community needs.
  • Review data for quality, accuracy, and compliance with FAIR principles.
  • Collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to support data-driven insights.
  • Assist in improving workows and tools for data management.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Statistics or a related eld.
  • Prociency in data management tools and software (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
  • Familiarity with FAIR data principles is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge about WebGIS, PostGIS, etc., is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of additional EU languages is an asset.
  • Interest in pollinator conservation and ecosystem services is a plus.

Formerly she worked at the Belgian CARI (Centre Apicole de Recherche et Information) for more than ten years.  Since 2009 she has worked as veterinarian, ecotoxicologist and researcher.
