In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious African Prize in the Agricultural Technology Category at the African Youth in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Competition held in Tanzania. His winning project showcased an innovative approach to sustainable honey production, earning recognition for its potential to advance biodiversity conservation, climate action, and food security.

As the founder of Yirah Foods, Joel champions organic honey production to solve the problem of honey adulteration.
