After performing a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Bachelor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and a Master Degree in Advanced Genetics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), I worked as a research assistant in the field of Parkinson research at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB). Thereafter, I got interested on microbiome studies, leading to my current line of work. I performed my thesis at the Applied Genomics & Bioinformatics group of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), under the supervision of Profesor Andone Estonba and Ikerbasque Researcher Iratxe Zarraonaindia. Entitled “The Impact of Anthropization on Honey Bee-Associated Microbial Communities:
Implications for Colony Well-Being and Survival”, my thesis aimed to elucidate the impact that anti-varroa xenobiotics and landscape anthropization have on the microbial communities associated to Apis mellifera colonies.
