| About | I am a second year PhD student in molecular microbiology and applied microbiology with background in agriculture and apiculture. I have experience in molecular genetics and analytical chemistry for the detection of pesticides in honey and pollen. I have great interest in host-microbial interactions, impact of stressors on the gut microbial communities, microbial biodiversity and their impact in host and environmental health. In my PhD I am looking at the impact of key environmental factors, pesticides and pathogens, on the honey bee gut microbiome and studying the honey bee-bee gut microbiome interactions. By understanding these interactions, I will help find strategies to protect bee health and prevent colony losses. |
