About

I began my academic journey in 2019 at the University of Bern, where I pursued a Bachelor’s
degree in Biology. Building on this foundation, I continued with a Master’s degree in Ecology and
Evolution, specialising in animal ecology and conservation. During my Master’s studies, I
conducted research on the combined effects of environmental stressors on pollinators,
culminating in my thesis titled “Antagonistic interaction of thiamethoxam and pollen deprivation
on colony and male fitness of bumblebees (Bombus terrestris)”. This work enhanced my
understanding of the challenges faced by pollinators.
In the summer of 2024, I successfully completed my Master’s degree and subsequently joined
the Forest Entomology Group at WSL as an intern. There, I gained practical experience in
ecological research, focusing on forest insect populations and their environmental interactions.
In April 2025, I will begin my doctoral studies at the Institute of Bee Health at the University of
Bern. My PhD research will focus on shared pathogens between wild and managed bees.
