About

I am a veterinarian and for more than two years I co-created a veterinary practice specializing in the diagnostics, prevention, treatment, as well as the broadly understood welfare and health of honey bees. I possess specialist knowledge in this field, based both on solid theoretical foundations and many years of practical experience.

Currently, I am a PhD student at the Institute of Zoology and Biomedical Research at the Jagiellonian University. My research focuses on the relationships between microbiota composition, pathogen presence, and the degree of hybridization in honey bees across an anthropogenic gradient (urban, agricultural, and natural environments), as well as the influence of these factors on honey bee survival.

As part of my research, I develop high-throughput molecular methods enabling the detection of pathogens, quantitative and qualitative assessment of microbiota, and identification of the subspecies affiliation of studied insects. My goal is to develop modern diagnostic tools supporting the improvement of honey bee health.
