About | Dr. Khalid Ali Khan currently works as an Associate Professor at the Center of Bee Research and its Products (CBRP) at King Khalid University, Abha, Saudi Arabia. He does research on honey bee queens, bee health & nutrition, and the structural and functional variability of gut microbiota associated with honey bees. His research interests also include the characterization of honey & other bee products, molecular aspects of bee pathogens, and pollination ecology of Apis and non-Apis bees. He worked as a principal investigator in more than 20 funded projects. Dr. Khan is also actively involved as a Co-PI in running a joint project (Genetic and phenomic selection of high-quality honey bee queens native to Saudi Arabia: their propagation and cryopreservation of drone’s semen for long term storage) at the Unit of Bee Research and Honey Production, KKU and Honey Bee Lab, Department of Entomology, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. Dr. Khan has published over 300 peer-reviewed publications in top journals with an H index of 30 (total citations= 5914, Google Scholar), 30 (total citations = 4214, Scopus), and 34 (total citations = 5231, Research Gate). He was invited to be a reviewer in many WoS-indexed journals and completed peer reviews successfully. Dr. Khan has served as an Editor for Frontiers journal. Also, he has served as a grant evaluator for the National Fellowship Program Graduate Women in Science, Mullica Hill NJ USA. |
